The beginning of a new year always brings up lots of good intentions in people.
Goals are set (be it on reading level or in other areas) and sometimes we'll attain them and sometimes not.
But even if our good intentions may not come true, life's too short to regret things.
Except maybe like Françoise Sagan said: "The one thing I regret is that I will never have time to read all the books I want to read." 😋
Inspired by a
discussion with a friend about regrets
and the allegory of 'books of regret' that are 'flying away', this seemed the perfect
moment to let you all discover one of my favourite short animation films.
Let it inspire you to discover plenty of books in 2021 and above all - regardless the amount of books - to enjoy reading!
Mostly a movie is based on a book instead of the other way round.
Still the latter is the case with The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
This picture book is a true declaration of love to books and to reading.
When I discovered it two years ago, I decided to look up the animation movie which it was based upon.
The biggest difference between the two of them is the fact that the book contains text, whereas the movie doesn't.
But as they always say: "A picture is worth a thousand words." 😉
Did you know that the eponymous animation movie …
… dates from 2011?
… lasts only 15 minutes?
… did win the Oscar of Best Animated Short Film in 2012?
… also won 6 other prizes?
Sit back and enjoy 'The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore':
