Book Bingo

This is the reason why you didn't hear me the past few weeks.

At the end of February I discovered 'Book Bingo'.
The goal is to read at least 25 SFF-books (in which SFF stands for Science-Fiction & Fantasy) and to fill up your bingo card with different categories.
If you manage to make a row - be it horizontal, vertical or diagonal - you can win a prize.
And if you manage to fill your whole card, you get a 'Reading Champion'-flair.

Although I first thought this probably wasn't my cup of tea, I soon became kind of addicted to it!

 

 

Book Bingo is an initiative organized by r/Fantasy on Reddit.
It's a yearly event which runs from April 1 till March 31.

 

As I only learned about Book Bingo 2020 a few weeks ago, I didn't think it possible to fill up an entire card.
My reading taste is very broad and even though SFF are some of my favourite genres, I'd only read 12 books that could be placed in the squares.
Which means I had to read 13 more books to finish my card.

 

And then I finished a first book.
After that a second and a third one.
Each time I was able to fill up another square.
Before I knew it, I was totally addicted to (re)shuffling my titles to fit as many squares as possible.

Suddenly the finish line didn't seem unreachable anymore.

 

And yes, I made it!
A few days before the end I read my 25th SFF-book.
Not only did I fill up a whole bingo card, but I cut back a bit of my backlog in my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 100 books a year as well.

As there are so many unknown gems out there, I've set myself an extra goal: only reading books with less than 100 Goodreads-reviews.
So if you have any suggestions for SFF-books with less than 100 GR-reviews in the aforementioned categories, don't hesitate and let me know!
